Our history
In 1988, in ciudad Nezahualcóyotl, near Mexico City, Arturo Reséndiz founded a small facility for manufacturing marshmallow lollipops. He sought independence from his father’s business, which produced wafer cones with marshmallows. With just one employee, “El Chaparro,” he began operations. Four months later, his wife, joined the team, and together they launched a lollipop with acidulated sprinkles.
As demand grew, they expanded their product line to include colorful sprinkles, gummies, and chocolate-covered marshmallow lollipops. Their success established them as a strong competitor in the market. This growth led them to enter the marshmallow and cone business, introducing a 40-piece sugary wafer cone with marshmallow, known in Spanish as barquillos de malvavisco azucarado. The product became popular for its unique flavors and appealing presentation.
From just three employees in the early days, the company has now grown to a team of 70. To support this expansion, the business relocated 14 years ago from a 300 m² warehouse in Nezahualcóyotl to a 2,400 m² facility in San Miguel el Alto, Jalisco. Over time, the family business has become a recognized name in the marshmallow industry, known for its creativity and dedication.
Innovation has remained at the heart of their success. They have introduced acidulated, multi-flavored marshmallows, including a unique chamoy-filled variety. Currently, they are developing new fillings such as cajeta and cappuccino coffee, which will soon be available in the market, along with many other innovations, and the story continues…
